2 policemen killed in Pakistan

Two policemen were killed and one other was injured in an attack on their vehicle in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, rescue sources said, reported Xinhua.

The policemen were on routine patrolling across Swabi district of the province when unknown terrorists hurled a hand grenade at their vehicle, sources from the state-owned Rescue 1122 told Xinhua.

The injured policeman, shifted to a nearby hospital, was in critical condition, said the sources.

Police cordoned off the site following the attack, and a search operation is underway.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
