Three more Palestinians were killed on Tuesday, raising the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli raid in the West Bank city of Jenin to 13, Palestinian medics said, reported Xinhua.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) said in a statement that its medical personnel took the body of a Palestinian killed in the clashes with Israeli soldiers to the government hospital in Jenin.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Health Ministry said two other Palestinians were killed in the city on Tuesday evening, including one who succumbed to wounds he sustained from Israeli soldiers' assault early in the morning.
The PRCS said that the death toll of Palestinians killed in the Israeli raid climbed to 13, while more than 150 others were injured, including 30 in critical condition.
Palestinian Health Minister Mai Al-Kaila also confirmed the casualties at a news briefing in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
On Monday, the Israeli army, backed by drones, helicopters, bulldozers and armored vehicles, waged a large-scale military operation in Jenin.
An Israeli army spokesman said in a press statement that the military operation aimed to rein in militants of Palestinian factions, including the Islamic Jihad and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
Local residents reported that fierce clashes continued on Tuesday between Palestinian militants and Israeli soldiers at the entrances of the Jenin refugee camp, adding that explosions and intense gunshots could be heard all over the area.
Hamas spokesperson Abdel-Latif al-Qanou said in a press statement that "the occupation's aggression against the Jenin camp will fail, and its objectives will fall in the face of the steadfastness of our people."
Earlier on Tuesday, a young Palestinian man rammed his vehicle into a group of pedestrians in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv, injuring at least eight Israelis. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack, vowing to continue and escalate its resistance against Israel.
