Trudeau couple announces divorce

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau on Wednesday announced divorce after 18 years of their conjugal life, international media reported, quoting statement of the Prime Minister Office.

According to the statement, the parents of three children Trudeaus have signed a legal separation agreement.

“As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build. For the well-being of our children, we ask that you respect our privacy and their privacy,” Trudeau wrote in an Instagram post.

The Premier said that they had decided to separate after many meaningful and difficult conversations.
