Air traffic at Morocco's airports in Jan.-Nov. surpasses pre-pandemic level

Morocco's airports recorded nearly 24.74 million passengers during the first 11 months of 2023, up 34 percent from the same period of 2022 and 7 percent from the same period in pre-pandemic 2019, the Moroccan Airports Authority ONDA said Thursday in a statement, reported Xinhua.
The number of passengers passing through the airports of tourist hubs of Tangiers, Fes and Agadir increased by 42 percent, 22 percent, and 13 percent, respectively, compared to the same period of 2019.
The Casablanca International Airport, the biggest airport in the North African country, received more than 8.97 million passengers in the first 11 months, representing a 95-percent recovery rate from 2019, it added. The passenger flow in Moroccan airports reached a record high of 25.06 million in 2019.
Meanwhile, the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism announced on Wednesday that the North African country has recorded 13.25 million tourist arrivals between January and November, up 11 percent from pre-pandemic 2019 and 36 percent from the same period last year.
Morocco's tourism revenues reached 9.1 billion U.S. dollars in the first 10 months of 2023, it added.
