3 teens arrested for armed robbery in Australia

Police in the Australian State of Queensland said on Sunday that three teenagers were taken into custody after a 53-year-old woman was threatened with knives and robbed on Saturday night in Pimpama, a northern suburb in the City of Gold Coast, reported Xinhua.

The police said that officers were called to the scene late last night, and their initial investigations indicated two boys and a girl had approached the woman, before the two boys allegedly produced knives and made threats.

It would be alleged the youths stole the woman's keys before fleeing the area on foot, the police said, adding that the woman was not physically injured.

The two boys, aged 12 and 13 respectively, and the 15-year-old girl were subsequently arrested nearby, with knives allegedly seized from both of the boys. They had each been charged with one count of robbery, whilst armed and in company, according to the police.
