At least four people were killed and three others injured on Sunday in firing at two passenger vehicles in Pakistan's northwest Kurram district, reported Xinhua, quoting police.
District Police Officer Muhammad Imran told Xinhua that some unknown gunmen opened fire at a car and a passenger coach near the Sadda Bazaar area of Kurram, a district in the northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Police, security forces, and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and injured to a nearby hospital, said the official.
The police officer added that the deceased included two security officials, but he refrained from telling the department of the security personnel.
Police and security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
The health official said that the injured were in critical condition and were being treated at the intensive care unit of the hospital.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
