Teenager stabbed to death, 1 injured near Australian school

A teenage boy has died and another is fighting for life in hospital with critical injury after a stabbing took place on Friday near an Australian school, reported Xinhua.

At about 3:40 p.m. local time, emergency services responded to the stabbings near a school on Power Street in Doonside, a suburb located approximately 35 km west of Sydney's central business district.

Before police officers arrived, two boys in their teens had presented themselves to the Blacktown Police Station with stab wounds.

Both received treatment at the station. But one boy later died at the scene, while the other was transported to a hospital in a serious condition.

Police have established multiple crime scenes, with investigations launched into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

New South Wales Police Force confirmed in a statement that one person has been arrested and inquiries are ongoing.

Meanwhile, a woman was rushed to hospital on Friday with a head injury after being stabbed near an iconic beach in the Australian city of Sydney.

Shortly before 11:00 a.m. local time, police officers were called to Roscoe Street in the suburb of Bondi Beach after receiving reports of a stabbing.

Paramedics treated the 36-year-old woman at the scene before she was transported to hospital in a stable condition.

As per a statement by the New South Wales Police Force, a crime scene has been established with investigations underway into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

Roscoe Street is one of the most bustling paths in the heart of Bondi, linking up multiple shops and eateries while leading down towards the well-known beach.

The popular tourist attraction is located less than seven kilometers east of Sydney's central business district, reportedly welcoming more than 2 million visitors every year.
