Police officer stabbed in Sydney's city center

A police officer from the Australia's New South Wales (NSW) police force was injured in a stabbing incident in the city center of Sydney on Sunday afternoon, reported Xinhua.

The NSW police said on social media that the officer was treated for non-life-threatening head injuries before he was taken to hospital.

A man, aged 33, has been arrested and taken to hospital for assessment, said the police.

The police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
