At least 15 Palestinians were killed and dozens of others wounded in intensive Israeli attacks on the city of Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources said on Wednesday, reported Xinhua.

Israeli warplanes and artillery bombed several houses in the Sheikh Nasser and Ma'an areas, Palestinian security sources told Xinhua. Medical sources said at least 15 people, including children, were killed in the attack.

The Israeli army has yet to comment on the incident.

Since Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas and the Israeli army have been engaged in a large-scale conflict that began with a deadly Hamas attack on Israeli towns near the besieged Gaza Strip that killed about 1,200 people.

Since the outbreak of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in October last year, the Israeli military has killed 39,965 people and injuried 92,294 in Gaza, the Gaza-based health authorities said in a statement on Wednesday.
