At least 15 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks on the central and southern Gaza Strip on Monday, reported Xinhua, quoting Palestinian sources.

Palestinian security sources told Xinhua that Israeli aircraft targeted a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, killing at least 10.

The airstrike completely destroyed the house and caused damage to neighboring homes.

The victims included children, medical sources told Xinhua, adding that another 15 people injured were transported to hospital with varying degrees of wounds.

Also on Monday, a separate Israeli shelling of a makeshift bakery in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip killed at least five Palestinians, including a child, and injured several others, according to security and medical sources.

So far, the Israeli army has not commented on the two attacks.

Israel has been launching a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border on Oct. 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and about 250 taken hostage.

The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip has risen to 41,226, Gaza-based health authorities said in a statement on Monday.
