At least eight Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a residential home in the Al-Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza Strip, reported Xinhua, quoting Palestinian sources on Tuesday.

Local sources and eyewitnesses informed Xinhua that Israeli warplanes targeted a home located near the Ahli Club within the camp. Medical personnel confirmed that the Israeli raid resulted in eight deaths and several injuries with the wounded transported to Al-Awda Hospital in the camp.

The Israeli military has not yet commented on the incident.

Israel has been launching a large-scale offensive against Hamas in Gaza to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border on Oct. 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and about 250 taken hostage.

During the past 24 hours, the Israeli military killed 12 people and wounded 43 others, bringing the total death toll to 41,467 and injuries to 95,921 since the onset of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Gaza-based health authorities said in a statement on Tuesday.
