7 killed in attack in Pakistan

Seven people, including security personnel, were killed in an attack in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday, reported Xinhua, quoting official sources.

The incident happened in the tribal district of North Waziristan where militants attacked a joint check post of the army and police, the sources told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The killed included four policemen, an army soldier and two civilians, the sources said, adding that two policemen and a soldier were injured in the attack.

The injured people were shifted to a nearby hospital.

No group claimed responsibility for the attack.
