At least 30 people were killed in Israeli air and artillery strikes across the Gaza Strip on Friday, reported Xinhua, quoting Palestinian sources.

Palestinian security sources told Xinhua that the Israeli army has intensified its attacks on different areas across the Strip, particularly the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Medical teams recovered at least 10 bodies after an artillery strike hit a school sheltering displaced persons north of the Nuseirat camp, according to Palestinian medics.

They added the teams also retrieved six bodies from two targeted residential houses in Nuseirat.

Dozens of Palestinians, including children and women, were injured in a series of airstrikes on various parts of the Nuseirat camp, the sources said.

In Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, two people were killed in an Israeli strike on a house in the Hadaba area, local sources and eyewitnesses said, adding two others were killed and several more injured in an Israeli strike targeting a gathering of Palestinians in the town of Al-Zawaida.

Gaza's medical services said in a statement that their teams retrieved four bodies after an Israeli strike on a residential house in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City.

In another incident, two people were killed, and several others injured in an Israeli strike on a gathering of Palestinians in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza City, according to the statement.

In southern Gaza, four were killed in an airstrike on a vehicle west of Khan Younis city, medical sources reported.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement on Friday that IDF operational activity continues throughout the Gaza Strip.

In northern Gaza's Jabalia area, the troops killed dozens of militants and conducted targeted raids on military structures, while in central Gaza, the troops identified and killed several armed militants who were operating in the area.

In southern Gaza's Rafah area, the troops identified militants operating within a military structure that had an underground tunnel shaft, the IDF added.

In a separate statement, the IDF said it killed Izz al-Din Kassab, a member of Hamas' political bureau and head of its coordination with other factions within Gaza, in an airstrike in Khan Younis, based on intelligence reports.

Also on Friday, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, announced that its members had killed and injured Israeli soldiers in Jabalia.

In a press statement, the brigades said that it successfully carried out a complex operation targeting an Israeli troop carrier with a "Yassin 105" missile and hit a house with 12 Israeli soldiers inside, using a "TBG" projectile, resulting in deaths and injuries.

The statement added that while three soldiers were fleeing toward a Merkava tank, the tank was struck by a powerful explosive device in the Al-Qasasib area of northern Jabalia.

The Israeli army has not commented on the incident.

Israel has been conducting a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip to retaliate against a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border on Oct. 7, 2023, during which about 1,200 people were killed and around 250 others taken hostage.

The Palestinian death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks in Gaza has risen to 43,259, the Gaza-based health authorities said in a statement on Friday.
