The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has long warned that "sanitary and living conditions across Gaza are inhumane" , reported Xinhua.
The prolonged Gaza war has caused significant environmental damage, with mountains of garbage piling up and sewage leaking onto the streets across the Palestinian coastal enclave.
The ongoing Israeli attacks have reduced buildings and infrastructure in the Gaza Strip to millions of tons of rubble. UNRWA said earlier in the year that it could take years to remove these rubble and debris.
