It will take time for Russia and the United States to rebuild and strengthen mutual trust, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday, reported Xinhua.

"We trust ourselves. To say that we trust the Americans, we will need to go a long way, we will need to develop measures to restore and strengthen mutual trust," Peskov said.

Meanwhile, the spokesman noted that Washington's stance on Ukraine is more "balanced," which facilitates efforts to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Possible Russia-U.S. economic cooperation will come after the settlement of the conflict, he added.

"Next on the agenda is the issue of settling the Ukrainian crisis. And then... it will be time to consider possible projects for trade, economic and investment cooperation," Peskov said.
