One Lebanese soldier was killed and another injured and brought to Israeli territory in recent Israeli shooting attacks in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese army said Monday in a statement, reported Xinhua.

"The latest of these (Israeli) violations was the shooting of a Lebanese soldier on March 9, 2025, in the village of Kafr Kila -- Marjayoun, which led to his death, coinciding with ongoing Israeli breaches of Lebanon's sovereignty and security," said the statement.

Meanwhile, another Lebanese soldier "in civilian clothing" was shot and injured by Israeli forces "in the outskirts of the village of Kfarchouba, near the southern border," who was later transferred "into occupied Palestinian territories," said the statement.

A Lebanese security source told Xinhua that the injured soldier, identified as Ziad Shibli, was traveling on his motorcycle from the village of Halta to Kfarchouba and was ambushed by Israeli forces in an area west of Kfarchouba.

The soldier was shot multiple times, causing him to fall to the ground. Shortly afterward, Israeli forces arrested him and transported him to Israel, the source said.

Also on Monday, Lebanon's state-run National News Agency (NNA) reported that Israeli reconnaissance and drone activity has intensified over western and central sectors of southern Lebanon, reaching the Litani River and the coastal area.

"Surveillance drones were also flying heavily over the eastern sector of southern Lebanon and over the city of Hermel in eastern Lebanon at a low altitude," the NNA reported.

Since Nov. 27, 2024, a U.S.- and French-brokered ceasefire agreement has been in effect, putting an end to over a year of clashes between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, which were triggered by the Gaza conflict.

Although the agreement mandates a full Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory, Israeli forces remain stationed in five key positions along the Lebanese border well past the Feb. 18 deadline and continue strikes in Lebanon, claiming they are aimed at neutralizing "threats" posed by Hezbollah.

Meanwhile, a Palestinian man was killed and several others injured in an Israeli airstrike on the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza on Monday, according to Palestinian sources.

Eyewitnesses and local sources told Xinhua that an Israeli drone launched a missile at a group of Palestinians northeast of the camp.

Medical sources said the body was transported to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah city, while several others sustained various injuries.

Also on Monday, a spokesperson for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the Israeli army targeted "militants" in Gaza City and the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

Three men were seen near IDF troops "attempting to plant explosive devices" in Shuja'iyya, a neighborhood in Gaza City, the spokesperson said in a statement.

"The troops opened fire toward them, and hits were identified," the spokesperson said.

Three others were spotted "operating near IDF troops" and attempting to plant explosives in Nuseirat, the spokesperson said, adding that a drone targeted them, and "hits were identified."

The latest Israeli attacks came amid persistent tensions in Gaza, as negotiations on the second phase of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas remain stalled.

According to Gaza's health authorities, the Palestinian death toll since the start of the Israeli offensive in October 2023 has risen to 48,467, with an additional 111,913 people injured.
