5 killed in car bomb attack in Baghdad

At least five people were killed and ten others wounded Friday evening in a bomb attack in the downtown Karada district of Baghdad, according to local police.

A local police source told Xinhua that a car bomb exploded in a parking area of the Karada Bureau of Traffic Administration, killing at least five people, with another 10 injured. Several cars in the area were destroyed and buildings around the area were damaged.

Karada district, located on the east of the Tigris River, used to be one of the most flourishing business areas before the Iraqi War in 2003. Two bomb attacks occurred in this district in 2016, leaving at 200 killed or injured.
