The Hamas-run Ministry of Interior announced Tuesday that it has arrested 45 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip for being collaborators with Israel since November.
Eyad al-Bozzom, spokesman of the Ministry of Interior in Gaza, said in a press statement that the suspects were arrested following the Israeli force's infiltration into southeastern Gaza in November.
An Israeli officer and seven Hamas militants were killed during the exchange of fire.
The ministry released on the social media a video showing some of the suspects confessing that they are collaborating with the Israeli security agency known as Shin Bet.
Bozzom said that the suspects are still under investigation, adding "we send a message to the occupation (Israel) and all its collaborators that your collaborators are in our grip and our security apparatuses are able to foil all their activities."
The spokesman called on other Palestinian collaborators in the Gaza Strip to hand themselves over to Hamas security forces.
