Algeria's Bouteflika officially runs for fifth presidential term

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on Sunday officially submitted his candidacy for the presidential election due on April 18, in a bid for a fifth term in office, APS news agency reported.
Bouteflika's candidacy was submitted by his campaign director Abdelghani Zaalane, APS said.
The submission came amid growing protests against Bouteflika's decision to seek a fifth presidential term.
Bouteflika, 82, is still in Geneva for medical care.
